CHIVAYO STRIKES AGAIN WHILE ZIMBABWE SUFFERS
Wicknell Chivayo is smiling all the way to the bank again. This time he has a new government deal worth more than four hundred million US dollars. The deal is for cancer treatment equipment. But many people are asking if this deal is really to help cancer patients, or if it is just another way for Chivayo to get rich while the country suffers.
Chivayo is very close to President Emmerson Mnangagwa. Because of this, he keeps getting very big government tenders. He has already taken deals in electricity, defence, construction, internet, transport and even the 2023 elections. Now he is moving into the health sector too. One man keeps getting everything while the whole country cries.
This cancer equipment deal was signed with the Office of the President and Cabinet. The government will pay Chivayo one hundred and nine million dollars every year. The contract will go on for four years. That means he will get more than four hundred million dollars in total. It is a huge amount of money in a country where people cannot even buy pain tablets in clinics.
The payments will start in March 2025. The government will give him fifty two point five million dollars as a deposit only fourteen days after signing. After that he will get nine point one million dollars every month from April 30, 2025. These monthly payments will continue until March 2026. Then the same plan will repeat for the next three years. All payments will be done in US dollars and sent straight to his bank account.
Many people in Zimbabwe are shocked. The country has no proper hospitals. People are dying every day because they cannot get treatment. There is no medicine. Doctors and nurses are leaving the country because they are not paid well. But one man is being given hundreds of millions of dollars without any questions asked. It shows how broken the system has become.
People are asking why this deal is so secret. Why was there no public bidding? Why does one man keep getting all these tenders? Why is the government trusting him again after he failed to deliver on past projects? There are court records that show how he was paid for power projects but did not do the work. Now he is being trusted with cancer equipment. It does not make sense to ordinary people.
This is not only about money. This is about life and death. Cancer kills many Zimbabweans every year. Most people find out they have cancer when it is too late. We need working hospitals. We need trained doctors. We need real equipment that comes on time. But the same tender system that failed electricity is now being used for cancer care. It is like the leaders do not care about the suffering of the people.
The people who make these decisions are playing with our lives. They give our future to one man because he is close to power. And that man becomes richer while the poor become sicker. This must stop. Tenders must be open and fair. They must go to companies that know the work. Our country cannot afford more fake deals.
This new deal shows how bad things have become. It is not about helping people. It is about helping friends. Until this system changes, Zimbabwe will not move forward. A few people will become millionaires while the rest suffer in silence. We must speak out. Enough is enough.
