CHIVAYO AND THE BROKEN SYSTEM THAT KEEPS ZIMBABWE POOR

Wicknell Chivayo is a businessman in Zimbabwe, and many people call him a tenderpreneur because he gets many big government tenders. He is very close to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, and this friendship has helped him become very rich while most Zimbabweans continue to suffer. This is a big problem in our country because it shows how those in power help their friends instead of helping the people.

Chivayo is always in the news. He likes to show his expensive clothes, cars and holidays. He says he is a successful businessman, but many people do not believe this. They ask how he got so much money so fast. The answer is simple. He wins many government contracts. He is always close to the people in power. When someone keeps winning tenders and is close to the President, people begin to worry because something is not right.

The biggest fear is corruption. Many Zimbabweans believe Chivayo gets tenders not because he is the best, but because he knows the right people. This is cronyism. It means giving work to friends instead of choosing the best person for the job. This is bad for Zimbabwe. It stops honest people from getting a chance. It stops real business from growing. It makes poor people even poorer.

The government says it wants to fight corruption. But how can people believe this when someone like Chivayo keeps getting big deals? If the government is serious, it must start by looking at people close to the President. No one should be above the law. Not even a friend of the President. If we want a clean system, everyone must be treated the same.

Zimbabwe is a rich country. We have gold, diamonds and many minerals. But most people are poor. Why? Because a small group of people take the money for themselves. People like Chivayo eat first while everyone else suffers. This is not fair. Our leaders must stop helping their friends and start helping the people who trusted them with power.

Many young people are unemployed. They finish school and find nothing to do. They cannot get loans or tenders because all the opportunities go to the same small group of people. They watch people like Chivayo become richer every day. This makes young people angry and hopeless. It destroys their dreams and their future.

Chivayo’s power is not just about money. It also affects politics. When one man has so much money and influence, he can control many things. He can control who gets what and even what people say. This is dangerous for democracy. A country cannot be free when money and power are used to silence others.

As a political activist, I say enough is enough. Zimbabweans must speak up. We must say no to corruption and no to cronyism. We must say no to people who grow rich while others starve. Chivayo is not a hero. He shows what is wrong with our country.

The future of Zimbabwe is in our hands. We must fight for justice and demand better. Together we can build a Zimbabwe where hard work matters more than connections and where no one gets rich by taking from the poor. Let us rise and say no to corruption and yes to a new Zimbabwe.
